Characteristics
Almonds are very healthy, high in fiber and vitamin E. Almonds are low in saturated fat and high in the healthy unsaturated fats. In addition, they also provide good intestinal function. Almonds also have a positive effect on cholesterol levels and blood pressure. They are rich in potassium.

Origin
Almonds grow in all countries along the Mediterranean Sea, especially Spain is a well-known country where this nut grows. They also grow in large quantities in America, which are the largest in world trade about 70/80 %.

Application
Almonds are one of the best known nuts and are often used in vegetarian dishes, granola bars, cakes and in curry dishes, among others. Think of shaved almonds, chopped almonds, roasted almonds and almond paste. Of course also delicious to eat out of hand as a healthy snack.

Ideal for vegetarians because of calcium
